The Fate of the Furious (Quick Review)
Points off for not spelling “fate” as “f8”

The Fast and the Furious movies have been around as long as the X-Men franchise and has as many films as Star Wars. How is it that it still has juice to tell fun stories in such an energetic manner? Simple: the filmmakers understand what type of movie they are making. They never lie to themselves or the audience about what they are creating, which is not an easy thing. Every fan, myself include, does worry that something will mess up this run. Sooner or later, someone will take it too seriously or not serious enough. Does this film have any problems? Of course, no movie is perfect. But I am willing and able to forgive a lot for such a bad ass franchise that has been with me since elementary school.

This movie manages to keep the excitement going in a series that could honestly never end. The action is to die for, the one liners are hilarious, and family is at the forefront as always. On top of that, there are so many ridiculously awesome moments that make you wonder how many more can be fit in the 2 hour run time. If you loved the last films, especially 5-7, you’ll love Fate of the Furious. My only complaint is that I have no idea for what they could do next. There is supposed to be two more after this and I can’t imagine what can top the intensity I witnessed. Without giving anything away, there were some major changes made in the group dynamics that could lead to interesting interactions in the future. On top of that, I can’t imagine where they could go next. Zimbabwe? Hong Kong? Des Moines?

What’s your favorite Fast and Furious film? Comment below and get a conversation started. I’ve been Superguy, and you’ve been awesome. Now go out there and drive some cars with an ex-WWE star in the middle of an ice cap while a rapper almost gets taken out with missiles. Because you haven’t lived if you haven’t experience that kind of joy.
